It will also better your chance of receiving the highest quality products used that will keep a beautiful finish for a longer period of time. Overall, your offices, business, and bottom line should only work with the nest office painting contractors around. This is a means to find them.

A great question to start out with is are the painters fully insured? At times a painter will say they are fully insured to get the contract. Make sure they provide a certificate of Liability Insurance and proof of Workers Compensation coverage. Very often contractors will pay their painters as subs to avoid paying for Insurance. Next, ask if they have references. An established Mountain Valley painting contractor will have many satisfied customers. Ask to see written testimonials or ask for references with full contact information. It is also a good idea to ask for information from both recent and older customers.

A valid question to ask is if they have experience with office painting. There are different kinds of contractors specializing in different kinds of painting. Exterior commercial or large industrial painting companies, for example, may lack knowledge of the special circumstances involved in painting offices. The everyday routine of the workspace should and needs to be respected. Do they use environmentally friendly paints? This is a question that is becoming more frequently asked. Paint manufacturers produce green zero VOC paints that will not harm the indoor air quality of the building. Make sure your contractor is well versed and knowledgeable about safe, green products that will not fill your workplace with toxic fumes. Consumers have choices so if this something needed for you then make sure you receive it.

If you are a consumer that may need help with color, ask them if they can help with choosing the right color for your office. There are certain colors that will make employees more comfortable at work. Ultimately that will lead to more productive and creative workforce. Always ask if there is a warranty on the work that will be completed. This shows that they stand behind their work. There are painting companies that will come back and do touchups. Also, ask if they can work with a schedule that works best for the consumers time. This usually requires the painting contractors to work after hours and on weekends.

Differences Between Commercial and Residential Painters

We specialize in Commercial Painting in SLC and surrounding areas. Many people assume that both commercial and residential painters perform the same kinds of tasks. More often than not, however, there is a major difference between the two. Residential painters provide painting services for the home or small shop or paint for a small business. Commercial painters step in when the job is too big for one man and his van.

We offer residential and commercial painting, but when it comes to large scale jobs, commercial painters are the way to go. This includes large-scale facilities, shops, public spaces, airports, warehouses, and other big projects. These are the tasks of commercial painters. Mountain Valley Painting has professional painters who can complete any large-scale job. We strive to make sure the job is done correctly and to our customers’ satisfaction the first time. We have painted for big names like Red Lobster, Vivint, Nordstrom, Gap, Mercedes and more.  We use the highest quality paints and can paint using two-part epoxy when necessary. We know what types of paint work best in different areas of your large scale building. We have the ability to handle your business needs too and we always do a professional job.

We will also help you with your residential painting too. This type of job may take less time but will be done in the same professional manner as our name brand clients receive. You can rest assured that your home or apartment will be painted to the highest standards.  Our contractors strive to make sure our residential customers are just as satisfied as our commercial customers. No job is too big or too small for Mountain Valley Painting. If you have a job that needs to be done we are the commercial painting company to call.

Preparation Before Painting

There are many processes when it comes to any task to improve your home. Painting is one of those that has instructions to each portion. There are a few keys processes before you can actually begin to paint. The first process is to protect the room.

The first couple of steps are pretty simple. Make sure you move all of your heavy furniture to the center of the room. Make sure to cover it with plastic drop cloths. Also, make sure to use canvas drop cloths on the floor since the plastic tends to become slippery. Next, if you need to cover a ceiling fan or an outlet make sure you remove the cover plates.

If you are painting a ceiling make sure that the hanging fixtures have protection. Take fan blades odd and then wrap the fixture with plastic. The cover plate should slide down as well. In the room, you are painting make sure you cover and door hardware as well. You can use painter’s tape as well as plastic bags to get them covered.

The second process is to remove the wallpaper. The first step is to score the paper with a scoring tool. Make sure to use a circular motion to perforate the paper. Next spray the paper with wallpaper removal spray. The paper needs to be wet in order to remove it. For the next step, you’re going to need a putty knife to use as a scraper. Once the paper is removed make sure the wall is cleaned off with any paste residue with warm.

The last process before painting the room is to clean. Clean the walls by vacuuming dust off of the baseboards and moldings. This will prevent dust and other particles from entering your paint job. The second step is to wipe the walls down with a damp rag, just a quick once over will do. A heads up if your walls do have oil or other residue on them make sure to wash them with trisodium phosphate for a more thorough cleaning.

Benefits and Dangers of Two Part Epoxy

Two-part epoxy is becoming more popular as time goes by and is known for its durability and beauty as well. However, many people think it is an easy process to do. There are many benefits to having epoxy done but there are also dangers involved as well. So, before you go and try to do it without any professional help please rethink it.

There are a lot of benefits from two-part epoxy. Epoxy is ideal for casting or laminating areas that are subjected to a lot of stress. This increases the durability of the material and having it last longer. It also locks in the most advanced level of shine that never fades. Epoxy can even cover over minor imperfections. Epoxy can even be just as strong if not stronger to conventional metal fastened parts. Epoxy can be an easy application as long as the individual doing the labor is experienced with two-part epoxy.

Dangers of two-part epoxy can mostly come from overexposure to epoxy. It can cause some health effects not many people are aware of. It can cause some respiratory irritation. This is caused when an individual breathes in highly concentrated epoxy vapor. Depending on the temperature epoxy vapor levels can increase, this is when temperatures are warmer and it is within an unventilated space. Epoxy chemicals remain reactive until it has fully cured. Most serious problems occur when sanding of the epoxy occurs and it is not fully cured yet. Chemical burns are uncommon when working with epoxy however, they have happened before. A more serious problem is allergic dermatitis, this is when the body over reacts to an allergen. You are more prone if you are overexposed to epoxy. However, once the epoxy is cured the danger of allergies and everything else is over. If it dries and looks bad, then that is a whole other problem.

That’s why you can trust your friends at Mountain Valley Painting. We have the right contractors that are experienced and make sure the job is done right without any dangers. If you are searching for any painting needs please call us and we can help you get it done right.
